How to Turn the Lights on at Mynt

Dennis Rodman makes his entrance at Mynt.

Saturday night at Mynt started out the way most Saturday nights at Mynt start. Flashy, sexy, loud, and full of potential. I was standing around our table sipping on some champagne while DJ Julian Ingrosso played some nasty house, girls danced on the back of huge black platform couches, and beautifully costumed dancers rocked to the beat on illuminated boxes in the center of the floor.

It was around 3am when in walked one of my most favorite people. He had probably gotten the word that Sammy Sosa had been in a month earlier trying to light the place up and decided he was going to do better. It took him about 30 minutes to make his way from the front door to his table, a total of maybe 25 feet. Between the flashes going off, the plume of cigar smoke, and the flock of willing women, the only reason I recognized him was because he stood nearly a foot above everyone else. Dennis Rodman was here to party.

When he finally arrived at his table he apparently placed an order only Dennis Rodman could ask for. What followed was a display of power and respect above anything else I’ve ever witnessed at Mynt. 30 hostesses, all dressed in white and looking amazing, appeared to the side of the DJ booth holding magnum bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne. Rodman said a few words on the microphone as is customary when a celeb shows up at Mynt, thanking everyone for being there and making sure everyone knew he was there to party. He handed the mic back and a few seconds later all 30 of the bottles ignited in white sparks as they were carried over head to a few tables in the front of the room. It was 3am but it might as well have been 3pm. Dennis Rodman had turned the lights on at Mynt, if only for 30 seconds.

I’m glad he’s still living the rock star life – and sharing it with the people wherever he goes.

You should definitely plan on setting up VIP bottle service at Mynt with SoBeVIPs on your next trip to SoBe. This is one place you shouldn’t miss.
